A technocrat, with over 30 years of multi-disciplinary experience in Product & Technology, Operations & Business Process Design. Started the career as steel making and continuous casting. With operational experience of more than 15 years, moved to product design and technology side for new product development and customer satisfaction. Now playing a leadership role for the entire product & technology cluster of JSW Steel Group.

One of the aspects I find most intriguing about industrial alignment for “Make in India”, where multiple products were developed first time in India through JSW steel by integrating science and technology in steel production for automotive, electrical and line pipe steel. Further the progressive R&D and quality focus is driving the organisation with newer and better products for EV motors, Hydrogen line pipe, defence grades, new coated products and green steel production. The other aspects are connecting technology with core business needs like customer satisfaction, higher margin, less rejections and consistence quality.

The digitalisation and automation in quality management is another aspects, which enables auto inspection, testing and dashboard based reporting and monitoring. AI based tools and digital quality gates at each station enable capturing know-how into digital SOP and control plan. The production and use of steel in innovative way is most exiting, as India is a growing economy with many opportunities to improve upon existing ways of doing things as environment friendly way or cost effective way.

Serving as the Dean for JSW Technical Academy is a thrilling opportunity to contribute to the future of the steel industry. I am particularly excited about the potential collaborations with industry experts, researchers, and professionals to ensure our curriculum remains cutting-edge and aligned with the latest advancements in production & usage of steel. Leading this platform as the dean for products & technologies, is a source of great excitement.
